Open Platform to Be Launched to Improve Donor Coordination

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, with the support of the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project plans to build an open Platform to improve Donor Coordination.

The main purpose of the platform, which will cover all the donors acting in education sector in Georgia, is to ensure better donor coordination and information sharing. Platform will allow donors to avoid duplication and overlaps and maximize synergies. The platform will act as a two-way communication tool, allowing donors to access timely and relevant information related to their programming. This includes researches and reports, outcomes and further plans, etc. Different educational resources designed with donor organizations’ support will be uploaded and accessible on the platform.

Working meeting was held between Ekaterine Dgebuadze – the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Sanikidze – I2Q Project Executive Director and Nino Kutateladze, The World Bank Senior Education Specialist. Mechanisms and approaches for building the platform were defined at the meeting.

For effective Donor Coordination thematic meetings will be regularly held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Open Platform will serve as an important tool for effective coordination of Donor Organizations acting in education sector.

The initiative will be implemented by the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project with the support of the World Bank.
