The World Bank Support to MES in developing Education and Science Strategy

Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is developing Education and Science Strategy 2022-2032 and action plan. The support is provided by the World Bank. Highly qualified local and international experts are involved in developing the document. The experts were selected through an international tender according the WB regulations within the scope of the I2Q project.

Working group staffed with experts will support the Ministry of Education and Science in identifying the policy actions, the ways to achieve the strategic goals, planning relevant resources, design assessment methodology and setting the performance indicators for implementing the effective monitoring.

Education and Science Strategy 2022-2032 will be supported by the 2-year specific action plan. The strategy will be the main policy document for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. It will cover the entire education system and science and will aim at meeting the needs of the national system as well as country’s obligations taken toward different international agreements.

For effective planning two days working meeting was held within the framework of the EU project “Support to Public Administration Reform in Georgia (PAR)”. Different stakeholders including MES representatives, I2Q project experts and EU project head participated in the meeting.

First working day was devoted to outlining the main strategic directions of the Education and Science Strategy 2022-2032 and discussed the key outputs for 2032. The second working day all the participants worked on the methodology for strategy development and planned the activities for sectoral areas.
