SRPs to be Piloted in 150 Schools
Within the scope of the I2Q Project and the World Bank support concept of school readiness and primary education integration is underway. The piloting of the new concept is planned in 150 preselected schools. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will arrange the infrastructure in the schools, and I2Q Project will carry out activities directly related to the learning process. Modernized, revised and child-centered School readiness program will be introduced in selected schools. The caregiver-pedagogues will be trained to implement new program effectively, and SR classrooms will be equipped with much needed educational resources, furniture, and technology.
A survey was conducted in advance for school’s selection to identify need on SRP Groups. The survey was conducted with the involvement of the I2Q Project and MES. The priority was given to the areas where there are no kindergartens, existing kindergartens are overcrowded, or with a long walking distance. High-mountainous settlements and schools with increasing flow of children are also prioritized.
