STEAM Extracurricular Programs to Implement in Schools
On June 27, 2023, Tbilisi Classic School hosted a meeting with IBF International expert Jeffrey A. Nowak, Ph.D. and the STEAM teachers. Innovation programs expert Jeffrey A. Nowak held core professional development meeting with teachers regarding the activities scheduled within the scope of the I2Q Project. STEAM extracurricular programs be implemented in 200 public schools, the capacity building of the STEAM teachers is scheduled, and providing support schools with necessary resources. Teachers of 20 Public Schools of Tbilisi and regions participated in the meeting. Since September 2023, all 200 public schools will be involved in scheduled preparation trainings.
Jeffrey A. Nowak discussed the programs developed for STEAM extracurricular activities. He shared international best practices successfully implemented in the US and other countries of STEAM extracurricular activities in schools. The expert presented the programs and necessary resources for implementation. Activities are sorted according to the students’ ages and general education levels. Subject experts of the national curriculum of the MES were involved in for agreed cooperation and coordinated work.
With the support of the World Bank, within the scope of the I2Q Project, General Education reform supporting activities are conducted with IBF International.
