CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE FIRST “INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE SCHOOL”

The I2Q Project HE component envisages the interventions for strengthening the internalization of HE education. The assignments under the HE component are in compatibility with the National Strategy of Education and Science. They are focused on the partnership goals with international research centers and universities, strengthening the skills and competencies, learning and research potentials, promoting the linkages with the labor market, raising the level of English language learning, and increasing the competitiveness of the students and young researchers.

The aim of the International Excellence School is to train ECRs (I.e. doctoral students, postdocs, and researchers within 5 years from their PhD award) and academic staff to the best practices in research management and innovation. The general objective is to build research capacity within Georgian universities enhancing the quality of their research structures, processes, and outputs.

The International Excellence Schools will encompass three stages during the I2Q Project lifetime and each school will have the main focus: School 1 – Competitive projects: application and management; School 2 – Intersectoral cooperation, technology transfer and innovation; School 3 – Intellectual property rights in the field of HE.

The first school is coming to start in January 2024. enhance academic cooperation on the national and international levels. The first school is scheduled for January 26-28, 2024, and representatives of all HEIs can participate in this event. The topics of the first school concern the following issues in the fields of education, humanities, and social sciences:

  • Development of project proposals for competitive projects
  • Best practices for management of competitive projects
  • Financial aspects of competitive projects

The event is held as part of the services of the UCL Consultants Ltd (in sub consultancy with Savvy Business sLtd) selected through an international tender. The organizers of the first International Excellence School in Georgia are: Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and British University in Georgia with the support of UCL University College London.

Notification of acceptance: 11 December 2023

Event: Friday to Sunday 26-28 January 2024
