An International Expert to Study School Textbooks Effectiveness
With the support of the World Bank, the international consulting consortium IBF International conducts complex activities in the general education sector. The activities are carried out within the framework of the I2Q project.
Activities planned for the development of the general education system and the whole school improvement include the analysis of the effectiveness of school textbooks (all grades) concerning the school curriculum. IBF International expert Susan Iannuzzi worked on this issue. Susan Iannuzzi held meetings with teachers in public schools across the country. Based on the received feedback, she submitted an analysis of the effectiveness of school textbooks to the Preschool and General Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The findings presented during the presentation were shared by the department. Within the scope of cooperation with IBF International, it is scheduled to revise not only the school textbooks but also the electronic resources used as supplement materials to the textbooks.
Simultaneously, regarding school textbooks, Susan Iannuzzi is working with focus groups from ethnic minority school representatives. The international expert will present another presentation and recommendations to the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia about the identified challenges and findings.
