SDSURF Professor Sarah Garrity Participated in Conference: Implementation of Early Education Curriculum: Local Strategies for Success
On March 4, 2024, the conference Implementation of Early Education Curriculum: Local Strategies for Success was held in the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. The Preschool Education Division of the MESY and the Japan International Cooperation Agency organized the event. The heads of associations of early and preschool education institutions of ten municipalities of Georgia, practicing caregivers, and caregiver-pedagogues attended the conference.
The event aimed to share examples of successful practices in preschool education and education curricula implementation.
Professor Sarah Garrity, a San Diego State University Research Foundation expert who works on curriculum improvement of early and preschool education within the framework of the I2Q project, was presented as an honorary speaker at the conference.
Professor Garrity held a presentation on improving and updating the curriculum for children 2-5 years old and the school readiness program for children 5-6 years old. The updated program will support the introduction of modern, child-oriented pedagogical approaches in the educational process.
