IBF International Experts Visited the Pilot Schools

IBF Intrenational experts with the leadership of the team leader John Henly visited schools involved in pilot in Tbilisi and regions on March 25-29 2024. The visits aimed to familiarize to and evaluate of the activities provided by the I2Q Project general education component.

The interventions of the consulting company IBF International is directed at promoting the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in schools and the introduction of an effective quality management system, plans and programs for the whole school improvement, assessment policy and the development of the national evaluation system.

The experts studied the progress of the pilot of the whole school improvement mechanisms and STEAM extracurricular program in the pilot schools with special attention. The whole school improvement mechanisms include the implementation of internal quality assurance system approaches, including data collection and analysis. Abovementioned piloting implies the implementation of mechanisms of formative assessment of students and the use of formative assessment data to improve the quality of teaching and learning. The purpose of STEAM extracurricular programs is to increase the interest of students, especially girls, in STEAM subjects. The set of resources necessary for the implementation of STEAM extracurricular programs within the framework of the I2Q project has already been given to 80 public schools across the country.

The general education component of the I2Q project is focused on improving the quality of teaching and learning in general education. The ongoing work within it includes: improving the educational infrastructure in the target schools, supporting the implementation/expansion of programs focused on strengthening the capacities of the whole school, supporting the development of the capacities of teachers and school administration, and promoting the development of the national evaluation system. In this direction, the international consortium works within the framework of the IBF International agreement – “Promoting the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in general education”.
