Professional Development Training ECE for Administrative Personnel in Lanchkhuti, Vani, and Zugdidi Municipalities is Completed
With the support of the World Bank, under the I2Q Project, SDSU continues active work in the early childhood and preschool education field. Within the scope of the cooperation between the I2Q Project and SDSU to successfully introduce modern, child-oriented approaches, a cycle of training was conducted for the professional development of the administrative and educational staff of preschool institutions.
The training cycle of professional development of the administrative personnel of kindergartens in three pilot municipalities (Vani, Lanchkhuti, and Zugdidi) took place on April 3-5, 2024. The leading experts in the field selected and trained by San Diego State University conducted the training. Tamar Chkonia, the head of the Early Childhood Education component of the I2Q project, informed the training participants in detail about the issues included in the agenda and the expected outcomes of the training.
The Training modules covered theoretical and practical approaches, group work, and discussions. The main topics covered the kindergarten management principles, the importance of quality early education, the main areas and stages of child development, the difference between child-oriented and adult-oriented approaches, educational personnel qualifications, job descriptions, etc.
The representatives of the monitoring service of local preschool education associations and centers attended the training and relevant employees of the education service of the City Hall. After the training, the administrative personnel of kindergartens will share their experience with caregivers and support them in developing the best practices.
