School readiness groups were launched in Lanchkhuti, Orulu and Rike Public Schools. Each group consists of 15 children.

School readiness groups are designed for children aged 5-6 and aim to support their overall development, including social, emotional, motor, and cognitive skills, as well as fostering curiosity and creativity. School readiness program emphasizes learning by doing and gives equal importance to all aspects of child development.

The launching of school readiness groups aims to increase access to preschool education. The Priority was given to areas lacking kindergartens, areas with overcrowded existing kindergartens, or areas with kindergartens located far from residential areas, including highland and borderline villages, as well as villages inhabited by ethnic minorities and schools expecting an increase in the number of children.

The school readiness program prepares children for school. The existing school readiness program was updated, and the selected relevant educational personnel were retrained. With the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, school readiness group spaces at selected schools were refurbished. The schools were provided with modern educational resources, furniture, and equipment under the I2Q project, with the support of the World Bank. The SRP will be piloted in 150 schools across Georgia.
