Telavi University hosted the First Workshop within the CIF2 Winning Project
Integrating Innovative Agricultural Technologies into Educational Programs Project (IIATEP) is the winner of the CIF second grant competition.
The project is being implemented by the consortium of the LEPL – Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University and LTD – Alte University, together with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and N(N)LE – Georgian Farmers Association.
The project aims to modernize and establish laboratories for Telavi University Agronomy Bachelor’s Program and Viticulture and Winemaking Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, as well as Alte University’s Computer Science Bachelor’s Program. Should be mentioned that together with the Georgia Farmers’ Association, Shukhmani Winery is a partner of the project, where the practical test of the courses integrated into the master’s program at Telavi University will be conducted.
From September 17-20, 2024, Telavi University hosted Swedish professors who held a working meeting within the framework of the project Integrating Innovative Agricultural Technologies into Educational Programs.
During the meeting, the Swedish professors learned about the viticulture and winemaking program at Telavi University and visited the facilities designated for the program. They also shared their experiences from the Swedish University regarding the bioinformatics course with the program heads and academic staff. The partners began collaborating on the bioinformatics syllabus during the meeting.
Telavi University plans to develop ten new courses that integrate innovative agro-technologies. One of these courses, bioinformatics, will be created and introduced at Telavi University with the support of Swedish colleagues.
The academic staff of TESAU and Alte University will visit the Swedish university in November 2024. Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian colleagues will learn about the experience of the Swedish University on the bioinformatics course.
