Description
Project goals are related to the strengthening of mechanisms for supporting doctoral students and the internationalization of programs. Project includes obtaining the international accreditation (FIBAA) of TSU doctoral educational programs – “Vocational Education” (English, in partnership with Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg) and “Education and Science Administration” (Joint English program, in partnership with the university of Athen). Also, a pilot doctoral education supporting unit will be established within the Department of Educational Sciences at TSU and institutional capacity for doctoral studies will be strengthened in the Department of Educational Sciences of TSU, CU and ASU. ATSU can use the experience gained in the project in order to spread the practices in its own context. Caucasus University is gaining experience in developing the doctoral program in education and strengthening the School of Education with innovative offerings.
Activities
The Project implementation contains the following activities: Conducting desk research to explore the best practices for internationalization of doctoral education services; review, updating and operationalization of existing regulations regarding doctoral education; creating modules and learning materials, developing mobility programs, capacity building of staff. Other major activities of the project are related to submission of doctoral programs for international accreditation (FIBAA). The final stage involves the dissemination of results. Particularly, the activities such as conducting a joint doctoral presentation conference, organizing annual conferences on the challenges of doctoral education. At the same time, an article on the internationalization of doctoral education services will be published.
Sustainability
The implementation of the Graduate Unit ensures sustainability by consolidating all resources and maintaining ongoing activities. Various funding possibilities, including institutional, governmental, non-governmental, international will also be considered by this unit.
