Total Project Cost: 529,725.00 GEL
Grant Amount: 419,225.00 GEL
Description
Project is a combination of scientific-research and educational activities. It aims to develop research components specific for one step medical education programme and their realization via application of problem- and project-based methodologies.
The project will facilitate the development of research alliance and sectoral cluster in Georgia, that is important for development of higher education programmes, essential research skills among students, analysis and practical application of scientific-research concepts, as well as for digitalization of educational-research activities, partnership of higher education institution and employer, and for initiation of research on “society demand” and application of technology transfer.
Activities
Virtual platform “Medicine and Innovation” is created, where information and data related to the project will be uploaded. Scientific Council “Medicine and Innovation” is established – a regulatory document is elaborated and was completed by project team members and individuals with research competence. To support student research focused on society specific healthcare challenges, student grant competition was announced by the Council within their scope of authority.
Project team elaborated a concept of research skills development focused learning courses specific to one step medical education programme curricula. The specific focus will be given to development of skills required for research, analysis and practical application of scientific-research concepts as well as to principles of digitalization of educational-research activities.
Training series “Medicine and Innovation” is ongoing. Target group of training includes students and young researchers interested in healthcare focused research. Scientific-popular lectures are also held aiming at popularising research focusing on society healthcare challenges and their results.
To disseminate project results, a scientific conference “Medicine and Innovation” involving students and young researchers will be organised.
Sustainability
An effective model of student research facilitation, developed in frames of the project, will be maintained with inner and outsourced funding; the model will be applied for young researchers’ activities too. The developed model is expected to be attractive for the private sector and to ensure collaboration of consortium members with them. This objective can be considered as the determining and pre-requisite factor of the industrial doctoral programmes concept development
The virtual platform “Medicine and Innovation” developed in frames of the project will further be administered and maintained. In particular, the platform will be used for realization of developed educational and research models and virtual mobility purposes.
