Wrap-up Meeting on Early Childhood Education Component Held within the Framework of the I2Q Project

Experts from the San Diego State University (SDSU) Research Foundation are conducting a wrap-up visit to Georgia from February 8–10. The purpose of the visit is to provide a final review of the status of activities implemented in early and preschool education under the Innovation, Inclusion, and Quality (I2Q) Project.

On February 9, 2026 as part of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Baya Kvitsiani, met with the international experts. The parties reviewed the outcomes of the early and preschool education component of the I2Q Project.

Special focus was placed on the results of the contract: “Consulting Services for Improving Early Childhood Education Institution Management Service and Enhancing the Quality of Program Across the Country”. The meeting highlighted the progress of the work performed and the nationwide implementation of these newly developed systems.

The Deputy Minister expressed her gratitude to the representatives of San Diego State University for their active partnership and emphasized the importance of ensuring the sustainability of these results. Baya Kvitsiani noted that maintaining the quality of these reforms is crucial for the long-term development of the country’s preschool education system.

Professor Nancy Frey, Lead of the SDSU Expert Team, along with Professor James Marshall, spoke about the productivity of their collaboration. They expressed their readiness to continue supporting joint initiatives and praised the results achieved through the mutual cooperation between the SDSU and the MESY.
