Work has Begun on Improving Quality of and Access to Early Childhood Education

Within the scope of the first Component (Improving Quality of and Access to Early Childhood Education), the I2Q Project started developing on ToR for tendering basic activities for improving the ECE institution management system and enhancing the quality of ECE programs across the country. The assignment aims to cover the grounds of ECE in almost every aspect:

  1. Developing quality assurance (QA) framework for ECE institutions, defining appropriate mechanisms considering the results of already achieved progress, the best international practice and requirements of national legislation;
  2. Developing the systematic and robust preschool data reporting and consolidation mechanism and incorporating with the Education Management Information System (EMIS);
  3. Development of ECE teachers’ certification and merit-based pay system;
  4. Development of in-service teacher training modules in alignment with professional standards and on modern child-centered pedagogical approaches considering gender, diversity, inclusive education, ECE subject-matter knowledge, and group management;
  5. Revise the current SRP and support the successful implementation of revised, modern, child-centered SRP within the selected 150 rehabilitated groups by fostering the professional development of SRP teachers and offering much-needed equipment, furniture, and technology.

For that matter, the services of the highly qualified international consultant and the national short-term consultant were procured through ICS competition. The meeting was held with the international and the national short-term consultants for discussing primary work, tools of execution, stakeholders, necessary policy documentation, etc.

Starting from May 10, 2021, the short-term consultants will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders and the PMU to develop ToR for tendering basic activities for improving the ECE institution management system and enhancing the quality of ECE programs across the country.
