With the support of the World Bank, Schools provided with Computer Equipment
Since its outbreak the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted education systems globally, affecting the schools in Georgia too. When institutions moved online, the primary focus was on acquiring the tools required for online learning, ensuring access to technology and equipment. With the support of the World Bank, within the scope of the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project computer equipment has been purchased by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
6350 laptops and 898 projectors worth USD 3 572 780 are intended for ensuring continuing learning process for students in 433 schools. The technical equipment enables teachers to run a successful learning process in the classroom as well as in online learning. Also, to keep on an electronic journal to monitor the grades and attendance of the students without delay.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has considered all the regions of the country when equipping schools with computer equipment. Preference was given to those schools where the whole school improvement is being implemented and schools where an optical internet connection and Wi-Fi infrastructure are installed.
With the support of the World Bank, I2Q Project also supports supply and installation of Wi-Fi networks in additional 121 public schools of Georgia.
