EMIS Capacity Building in Focus
Education Management Information System (EMIS) serves the entire education system of Georgia since 2021. The institution is responsible for the permanent development of ICT and ensuring its usage in the learning process in Georgia. Besides, EMIS collects and disseminates educational statistics.
Within the scope of the I2Q Project supported by the World Bank, the works are underway to improve the capacity of EMIS. The joint venture of international companies – EdTech Ventures Ltd (Ireland), H2 Learning (Ireland), and Conscience IT (India) conducted EMIS diagnostic assessment. The in-depth assessment aims to strengthen and reorient the EMIS as a set of operational processes increasingly supported by digital technologies, which allows the collection, aggregation, analysis, and use of data and information in education. Also, monitoring and assessment at all levels from early childhood to higher education.
On March 14, the joint venture of international companies held an online presentation of the assessment conducted and performed the draft of recommendations and several options for capacity building of the EMIS. PMU, MES, and LEPL representatives attended the online meeting.
Based on their feedback, the joint venture of international companies will improve the draft of recommendations. Working meetings will be scheduled in the nearest future.
