The Steering Group to Support Activities for Improving ECE 

The Steering Group was set up to support the implementation of activities envisaged within the I2Q Project ECE component. The first working meeting was held on 13 October 2022, in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

At the meeting, the Steering Group members discussed their authority, the workshop format and the work to be performed. Also, the works carried out and ongoing works for the purpose of authorization of early and preschool educational institutions across the country, and the issues of involvement of the Ministry of Education and Science and its structural units in these works.

Particular focus was on the contract – Consulting Services for Improving Early Childhood Education Institution Management Service and Enhancing the Quality of Program Across the Country – with San Diego State University Research Foundation. The activities implemented within the scope of the contract will support the improvement of the ECE sector. The Steering Group members discussed the contract objectives and assignments.

The Steering Group consists of representatives of the I2Q MPU and the structural units of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. In particular, the members are the representatives of the Preschool and General Education Department (MES), NCEQE, TPDC, and EMIS.
