CIF Workshop Held for HEIs
The Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) was established as a competitive grant mechanism within the I2Q Project with the World Bank’s support. The Fund’s establishment aims to foster the modernization of higher education programs and the improvement of the learning environment.
On 17-19 October, the first workshop was held with the representatives of the LELP Higher Education Institutions. The workshop aimed to share CIF objectives and general mechanisms of its implementation.
CIF Administrative Unit staff members presented the information on the CIF’s general aspects. They spoke in detail about funding stages, funding objectives, applicant eligibility criteria, consortia projects encouraging cooperation in joint projects uniting the public and private universities, appropriate and inappropriate costs, etc. The CIF staff members also spoke about CIF’s organizational structure and functions.
Nunu Mitskevich, the Deputy Minister of MES, HE department representatives, and I2Q team members attended the workshop.
The CIF will operate from 2022-2024. By the end of 2022, the first grant competition will be open.
