Commission Members Discussed School Infrastructure Standards
With the support of the World Bank, modern school infrastructure standards are developed under the I2Q Project. Standards aim at improving the school’s physical and educational environment. The new standards define mandatory and recommendation spaces for the school. The standards are based on concrete requirements and adjusted to the national curriculum.
The draft version of the framework document occasionally was reviewed and discussed with the MES and its relevant structural units. February 24, 2023, a meeting of the commission was held. The commission is made to guide and promote the development and approval of the draft/final version of the standards. The commission members are the representatives of the MES, MOD, MRDI, MOH, and their LEPLs.
The commission members discussed the standards’ general provisions, school sizes, and types according to the stages of education. And the mandatory and recommendation/optional spaces and room lists. The members agreed on the feedback and next steps.
GIB – the consultant company selected by the tender, is working actively on standards with stakeholder engagement considering their interests. The new standards envisage the new concept of integrating preschool and primary education infrastructurally and in respect of the content.
