IBF International to Work on National Assessment Improvement
The consortium, under the leadership of the company IBF International, implements the activities in the GE sector in Georgia. The activities are envisaged within the I2Q Project General Education component, with the support of the World Bank. The component provides technical assistance for developing and introducing the revised national assessment system for the general education level.
The diagnostic system development in the general education sector includes specific stages and activities.
On March 2, 2023, international expert Eduardo Cascallar (National Assessment specialist), with the executive director of the I2Q project, Tamar Sanikidze, and the head of the general education component, Khatia Tsiramua, held a meeting with the National Center for Assessment and Examinations leadership. The meeting participants discussed the development of the diagnostic assessment system mechanisms and the resources needed to implement the activity.
The interventions include several stages: 1. Development of diagnostic assessment mechanisms in cooperation with NAEC; 2. Piloting diagnostic assessment mechanisms in selected schools; 3. Considering the piloting results in the development of the evaluation mechanism. The interventions include capacity-building for NAEC staff, who will be engaged in the assessment system development in the future.
The diagnostic assessment mechanisms, developed within the framework of the I2Q project, will be piloted in selected schools before implementation. IBF International will offer recommendations for implementing the developed national evaluation system mechanisms across the country.
