Presentation of ECE Sector Salary Scale Baseline Survey, Findings, and Initial Set of Recommendations for Stakeholders
Under the I2Q Project, with the support of the World Bank, ECE Sector educational personnel professional development and a merit-based new remuneration policy are under development. San Diego State University Research Foundation experts work on this issue.
On May 31, within the scope of the working visit in Georgia, San Diego State University Research Foundation experts met stakeholders. Professor Nancy Frey, the experts’ team leader, held a presentation for stakeholders, informing them on ECE Sector Salary Scale Baseline Survey, Findings, and initial Recommendations.
Key stakeholders of the ECE sector attended the meeting – representatives of Ministries, LEPLs, the Parliament of Georgia, and other institutions. In conclusion of the presentation, a discussion around upcoming steps for merit-based salary scale development was held. All the stakeholders agreed that remuneration and professional development is identified as the most important mechanism to increase prestige and interest towards ECE field employment and recruiting of educational personnel.
