SDSURF Experts to Provide Training for ECE Authorization Experts

San Diego State University Research Foundation ECE experts continue to support the NCEQE for ECE Quality Assurance. The introduction of the quality assurance framework and the development of relevant monitoring mechanisms are conducted within the scope of the I2Q Project, with the support of the World Bank.

Within the scope of the I2Q Project, SDSURF experts selected trainers for training and retraining of experts for the authorization of early childhood and preschool education institutions. On November 17, 2023, in cooperation with the Tbilisi Kindergartens Management Agency, trainers visited Tbilisi #22 Kindergarten. The purpose of the visit was to study the matters of sanitary-hygiene and nutrition matters in the kindergarten.

Tamar Tchkonia, I2Q Project ECE component lead, and the trainers met the kindergarten director and discussed the practices and challenges related to sanitary-hygiene and nutrition. They learned about the HACCP standards introduction and its implementation on daily basis in the kindergarten. Trainers selected for the training of authorization experts also met with the kindergarten administration representatives, nurses, and educational and catering staff.

Kindergarten administration and personnel were helpful in providing essential information related to products’ supply and storage norms, cooking, meal provision, remaining’s disposal, food sampling, hygienic norms of personnel and children, management of epidsituation and monitoring, and managing of temperature among the children.

Collected information will be taken into consideration for improving and providing training modules for sanitary-hygiene and nutrition experts authorization experts.
