Work in Early Childhood Education Component Continues to Progress

On January 10, 2024, the head of the I2Q Project Early Childhood Education component met with the San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) representatives and the Preschool Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.

Within the framework of cooperation, the parties discussed the current and planned activities, including:
• Activities planned to deliver an improved School Readiness Program (150 SRP groups across the country);
• Phases of development of the professional development system of caregivers and caregiver -pedagogues and legislative needs for its implementation;
• Linkage between increasing remuneration policy and professional development system;
• Steps required to implement the increasing remuneration policy model;
• Procedures required for piloting the early childhood education and education data reporting system;
• Plans for the preparation of authorization experts-retraining training. At the beginning of February 2024, the San Diego State University international experts team will visit Georgia. The visit aims to conduct training for early childhood education authorization experts and to meet with stakeholders.
