SDSURF ECE Experts Outlined the Next Steps with Local Colleagues

San Diego State University Research Foundation Representatives continue their meetings in the framework of their working visit to Georgia. On February 15, 2024, early and preschool education international experts met with local colleagues.

At the meeting, San Diego State University experts presented an action plan for piloting a professional development training series for educational and administrative staff of early and preschool education institutions in Georgia planned for from March to July 2024. According to the plan, in the mentioned period, in the six selected municipalities (Gori, Lanchkhuti, Vani, Zugdidi, Dedoplistskaro, and Akhalkalaki), professional development training and mentoring sessions will be held for administrative staff of early and preschool education institutions and pedagogues /caregiver-pedagogues.

The meeting participants also reviewed plans to pilot an updated salary policy for early childhood and preschool pedagogues, a data reporting system, and an updated school readiness program. After the pilot is completed, experts will develop recommendations for developing a long-term action plan.

The activities are carried out within the scope of the I2Q project with the support of the World Bank.

San Diego State University Research Foundation experts will visit Georgia on their next working visit in March 2024.
