Developing the National Assessment System for GE Discussed
With the support of the World Bank, within the scope of the I2Q Project GE component, the IBF International experts work in various directions for the development of general education in Georgia. The experts, with PMU, held a working meeting with the new head of the National Assessment and Examinations Center on April 2, 2024. Khatia Tsiramua, the I2Q project GE component, and other NAEC representatives attended the meeting.
The meeting’s objective was to discuss a significant issue – the formation and development of the national evaluation system. The parties discussed the activities to be accomplished to develop the national evaluation system.
The general education component of the I2Q project envisages the development and implementation of a national assessment system that will support the evidence-based decision-making process. In agreement with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, the works carried out by IBF International comprise shaping a diagnostic evaluation system at the end of the basic level of general education and an evaluation system corresponding to the attestation goals at the end of the secondary level. In cooperation with the National Assessment and Examinations Center, the key works to achieve this very priority issue will start in September 2024.
