Professional Development of Educational Staff of Preschool Institutions Continues

Within the framework of ongoing activities to improve the management system of early childhood education institutions and increase the quality of programs, in cooperation with the I2Q project, San Diego State University experts continue to support the professional development of educational staff of preschool institutions.

According to the working plan provided by San Diego State University in cooperation with the I2Q project, the cycle of pieces of training is being carried out step by step in six pilot municipalities. In the municipalities of Vani, Lanchkhuti, and Zugdidi, trainings for the professional development of educational staff have been held since the beginning of April 2024. The pieces of training conducted by experts in the field selected and prepared by San Diego State University included the training of educators in the daily educational processes in child-oriented approaches, observation, and assessment, language environment, conflict resolution, inclusive education, partnership with families and implementation of school readiness best practices.

The training sessions included practical tasks, video modules, preparing and giving presentations, sharing experiences and challenges, and group work. The trainers ensured the educational staff’s involvement in the processes through role-playing and interactive approaches. To implement the knowledge and practical skills gained during the training sessions directly in the kindergarten across all three municipalities, the trainers made mentoring visits, observed, evaluated, and encouraged the best child-oriented practices with the educators.

The cycle of training and mentoring, within the framework of the I2Q Project, will continue from May 13, 2024, in the Akhalkalaki and Dedoplistskaro Municipalities.
