The Mayor of Dedoplistskaro Conducted a Fruitful Meeting with SDSU Experts
San Diego State University experts continue supporting the professional development of kindergarten educational personnel in Georgia. SDSU professors Nancy Frey and James Marshal are in another working meeting in Georgia. On May 28, in the visit framework, the representatives of the I2Q project and SDSU arrived at Dedoplistskaro Municipality. Dedoplistkaro Municipality is one of the pilot municipalities where professional development training series are ongoing for the early education institution educational personnel.
Mr. Nikoloz Janiashvili – the Dedoplistskaro Municipality Mayor and Ms. Irma Janasvili – the Head of the Kindergarten Management Agency, conducted fruitful meetings with international experts. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the ongoing activities in Dedoplistskaro – as one of the pilot municipalities – to improve the management system of the early and preschool educational institutions and the quality of programs.
The parties discussed the series of ongoing trainings for the professional development of kindergarten personnel in the municipality. The educators of 18 public kindergartens across the Dedoplistskaro municipality attended the professional development training. In addition, the trainings include practical modules and mentoring in the educational process in kindergartens.
The Mayor of Dedoplistskaro expressed his full readiness and support for the planned activities. The parties agreed to continue the cooperation, which includes the engagement of relevant representatives of the municipality’s mayor’s office, preschool educational centers in the piloting of the professional development and performance-based salary policy tool for educators, the piloting of preparatory work for the early and preschool education and data reporting system, and ensuring continuous professional development of kindergarten teachers.
During the visit, San Diego State University experts met with kindergarten teachers and learned about the training process.
