Batumi hosted the Second International Excellence School
To promote the internationalization of higher education in Georgia, within the framework of the I2Q project, the second International Excellence School was held on July 5-7 in Batumi. The Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Nodar Papukashvili addressed the audience with a welcome speech and spoke about the importance of the central theme of Excellence School – multi-sector cooperation, technology transfer and innovation. As the deputy minister noted, the three-day event will help young scientists and researchers formulate effective cooperation strategies and develop innovative approaches through multi-sector partnerships, increasing both their competitiveness and the degree of internationalization of universities.
Activities planned within the framework of the event aim to train early career researchers and academic staff, taking into account the best practices of grant project management and innovation. The main task of the International Excellence School is to strengthen research opportunities in universities in Georgia and improve the quality of their research structures, processes, and results.
It should be noted that Excellence School is supported by University College London (UCL) and jointly hosted by Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Batumi State Maritime Academy.
Another event will be held in Georgia in the format of the International Excellence School, which will strengthen the capabilities of the academic and scientific community in the direction of development of grant projects, technology transfer and innovation, and protection of intellectual property rights.
