Presentation of Interim Results – The Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Somatic Therapy Method Implementation for Better Mental Wellbeing and Enhancing Mental Health Education in Georgia
The Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Somatic Therapy Method Implementation for Better Mental Wellbeing and Enhancing Mental Health Education in Georgia is a project funded by CIF1. This project is being implemented by a consortium of LEPL – Ilia State University and LEPL – Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University.
A meeting was held at Ilia State University on July 9 to present the current results of the project. The meeting was attended by representatives of the I2Q project and the World Bank. During the meeting, the project implementers showcased the transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) device purchased as part of the project and discussed its advantages. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation somatic therapy, using a TMS machine, will be implemented in Georgia for the first time. This is an essential step towards providing better services to people with mental health problems. As a result of the project, new service opportunities will be created for the student body of Iliauni and the population of Georgia, aiming to improve their mental well-being.
Additionally, the innovative research potential of the academic staff and students of Ilia State University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University will increase, and the opportunities for study and clinical practice will expand.
