ECE Data Management System is being Piloted Successfully
San Diego State University, within the I2Q Project, with the support of the World Bank, is working on implementing a data reporting system for early childhood and preschool education. This system will include data on the ECE institutions’ infrastructure, children, and educational staff.
Tamar Chkonia, the lead for the early and preschool education component of the I2Q project, along with San Diego State University professors Douglas Fisher and James Marshall, held a working meeting with representatives of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) on September 11, 2024.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress and challenges related to the data reporting system and reviewed the results and recommendations for piloting the training of the reporting system. Over 94 responsible individuals received training in 6 selected pilot municipalities. The meeting participants also discussed changes needed in the system’s functionality, the collection of different types of information, the persons responsible for entering information, the protection of personal data, and other significant issues. They agreed to coordinate future steps and maintain close cooperation.
EMIS has extensive experience in creating and managing reporting platforms at different education levels. Based on this experience, a data reporting system for early and preschool education institutions will be introduced EMIS as a base.
