The New Academic Year has Started

Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project is being implemented in Georgia with the support of the World Bank. The project’s main goal is to enhance the quality of education and improve the learning environment. Here’s what the I2Q project includes:

Within the scope of the I2Q project:
Developing school infrastructure: The project aims to build 14 new schools and completely rehabilitate 23 existing schools while adhering to the European construction standard and national curriculum requirements for the physical environment of schools.

Implementing STEAM extracurricular program: The project has successfully introduced the STEAM program in 200 schools across Georgia to foster students’ interest in science subjects. Qualified educational resources and computers are being provided to these schools, with over 1500 students and 165 teachers currently participating in the program.

Piloting updated assessment tools: The project is piloting new formative assessment tools in 50 target schools to enhance the evaluation of students’ progress, drawing from international best practices.

Improving the selection and professional development of school principals: The project is working on improving the current practice of selecting and developing school principals and teachers based on developed recommendations. Capacity building activities for school principals and teachers are being carried out in 50 target schools.

Promoting an updated quality management system: The project is supporting the implementation of an updated quality management system for general educational institutions. This includes promoting the school authorization process and internal quality assurance mechanisms.

Developing assessment tools and creating educational management systems: Tools for evaluating students’ learning outcomes and a national assessment system.

E-school for general education institutions and a learning management system (LMS) for all levels of education, are being developed to promote evidence-based decision-making in education.
