A Cycle of Enhanced Mentoring Visits Conducted in Gori Municipality kindergartens

With the support of the World Bank, under the I2Q Project, SDSURF is actively working to enhance early childhood and preschool education in Georgia. Within the scope of the cooperation between the I2Q Project and SDSURF, a training cycle has been conducted for the professional development of administrative and educational staff in six pilot municipalities’ kindergartens.

Following the successful pilot and evaluation of the training, experts from San Diego State University have begun an improved series of mentoring visits in the Gori Municipality.

On March 19, 2025, a meeting was held for the trained administrative and educational staff of kindergartens in Gori Municipality. The San Diego State University experts discussed various topics, including curriculum goals, research and discovery, children’s self-regulation, conflict resolution, enhancing children’s interests, social awareness, games, sensorimotor studies, and developmental differences among age groups. During the training, educators participated in group assignments and delivered presentations.

Attendees included the director of the Preschool Education Agency of Gori Municipality, methodologists, and representatives from the monitoring service.

To support the implementation of the knowledge gained during the training, experts from San Diego State University will provide on-site mentoring for educational personnel in 15 kindergartens in Gori Municipality from March 20 to April 15, 2025.

These mentoring visits aim to help kindergarten personnel enhance their parenting and educational practices while implementing child-centered approaches.
