An international conference was held at TESAU, which was based on the framework of the CIF Project.
An international scientific conference – “Application of Modern Technologies in Agriculture” was held at Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University on March 27-28, 2025. The conference was organized under the framework of the project “Integrating Innovative Agricultural Technologies into Educational Programs,” which is funded by the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) grant competition of the I2Q project. Representatives from universities across various countries attended the conference.
The presentations during the conference focused on the learning process and the integration of the latest agricultural technologies into educational programs.
The goal of the project “Integrating Innovative Agricultural Technologies into Educational Programs” is to modernize the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Agronomy and Viticulture and Enology at TESAU, as well as the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Computer Science at Alte University. In collaboration with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, a new agrotechnology module will be incorporated into the Master’s program in Viticulture and Enology at TESAU, and mini-laboratories will be established.
TESAU is the first university to construct a smart greenhouse equipped with advanced technologies as part of the CIF project. Additionally, a drone laboratory is planned, and a new course for students majoring in Agronomy will be developed. The project also includes the organization of an agro-technological camp for students, the creation of certificate courses, and the retraining of academic staff from TESAU and Alte University. The agro-technological knowledge gained through the project will be shared with students, and professors involved in the project will participate in technological weeks at Techno Parks and hackathons related to agricultural topics.
The project is being implemented by Iakob Gogebashvili Telavi State University in partnership with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Georgian Farmers’ Association (GFA), and Alte University. It is being carried out at the Faculty of Agricultural, Natural Sciences, and Technologies, under the leadership of Professor Manana Kevlishvili.
