An innovative space has been launched at Tianeti Public School N1 to facilitate STEAM extracurricular activities. The opening was attended by Jeffrey Nowak, the lead for the General Education Component of the I2Q Project and an international expert from IBF Expertise SA. Professor Nowak, along with the school principal, officially inaugurated the space.
About three months ago, Tianeti Public School N1 received various educational kits, including programming, robotics, STEAM, educational-scientific kits, wind energy kits, green technology kits, a 3D printer, a drone, and various computer equipment. The innovative space is managed by trained teachers has been retrained within the scope of the I2Q Project. The students presented their projects and demonstrated the use of educational resources.
“These amazing children showcased incredibly impressive results today. Their talent and determination deserve special recognition. I see your commitment, and I’m thrilled to see how well you utilize the equipment. You have created an extraordinary club, sharing knowledge and experiences with one another. Consider how you will use these tools and the knowledge you’ve gained to improve the environment and make life easier for those around you. Know that this is just the beginning. Many exciting processes, discoveries, and acknowledgments await you,” said Professor Nowak.
Students voiced their enthusiasm, noting that they enjoy spending time in the innovative space, directly interacting with technology, and are very pleased with the tangible results they achieve.
Teachers have observed that the launch of this innovative space has made science subjects much more engaging for the children. “They particularly enjoy how theory is transformed into practical application. After classes, everyone gathers here, and no one wants to leave. Parents are also pleased, as they see their children’s enthusiasm and commitment to innovation,” commented the leaders of the innovative space.
Tianeti Public School N1 plans to make this space accessible to students from other schools in the region, share experiences, and involve them in activities.
The school has been equipped with the necessary resources, equipment, and furniture to implement the STEAM extracurricular program with the support of the World Bank, as part of the Innovation, Inclusion, and Quality – Georgia (I2Q) project. Similar spaces will be established in 13 schools across different regions of Georgia.
