STEAM Innovative Space Launched at Feria Public School in Khelvachauri Municipality

A STEAM innovative space has been officially opened at the Feria Public School in the Khelvachauri Municipality to implement STEAM extracurricular activities.

“This extraordinary space opens the door to new opportunities for our students. They spend a lot of time here, including on holidays, and work diligently on various projects. By putting theory into practice, the study of natural sciences has become very attractive for children. They learn and share their knowledge and experience with their peers. Girls are actively involved in the club’s activities. The younger students show particular interest,” the school principal noted.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports of Ajara and the I2Q Project, the head of the Khelvachauri Educational Resource Center, and school principals in the region.

School students presented their projects to the guests and demonstrated the use of learning resources.

“I am glad to see your projects. In all your works, interest, motivation are felt, and your teamwork is very visible. You have shown significant results in just a few months. I am glad for your success,” – the I2Q Project general education component lead addressed the students.

About 3 months ago, Feria Public School was given educational kits: programming, robotics, STEAM, educational-scientific, wind energy, green, etc. kits, a 3D printer, a drone, and various computer equipment. The innovative space is led by a teacher trained within the framework of the I2Q project.

Feria Public School collaborates with schools in the region, and interested students visit the STEAM innovation space.

The school has been equipped with the necessary resources, equipment, and furniture to implement the STEAM extracurricular program with the support of the World Bank, as part of the Innovation, Inclusion, and Quality – Georgia (I2Q) project. Similar spaces will be established in 13 schools across different regions of Georgia.
