IBF Expertise S.A. Summarized the Work Performed under the “School Development Plans for Improving the Quality of Teaching and Learning”
From October 28 to 30, a three-day seminar was held within the framework of the General Education Component of the I2Q Project, titled: School Quality Improvement for Improved Learning Outcomes in Georgia / Policy Drivers and Upscaling Strategies.
The main objective of the meeting was to present the results of the piloting of school development plans and, taking into account the piloting experience, to define a plan for implementing innovative strategies for improving the quality of teaching and learning in all general education institutions in Georgia.
The working meeting was attended by representatives of all key agencies of the education system (including: the Department of Preschool and General Education, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers, the National Assessment and Examinations Center, the Educational Management Information System, and representatives of the I2Q Project’s pilot schools), thereby ensuring full and engagement of stakeholders.
The working meeting proceeded with the active involvement of the participants. Over the course of three days, the participants thoroughly discussed the thematic documents prepared by the international consulting company IBF Expertise S.A. in close cooperation with the MESY, focusing on the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning. They were introduced to the results of the 50 schools involved in the piloting and highlighted ways to implement school development strategies at the systemic level. The meeting was summarized by Mariam Chikobava, Deputy Head of the Department of Preschool and General Education of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
