San Diego State University Experts Continue Work on Early Childhood Professional Development Initiatives
On November 12, 2025, experts from San Diego State University (SDSU) met with representatives of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development (TPDC).
The purpose of the meeting was to summarize the ongoing collaboration aimed at supporting the professional development of kindergarten educational and administrative staff and plan further steps. The meeting highlighted the key resources developed within the framework of the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project (I2Q Project) and emphasized the need for a nationwide system of continuous professional development.
Participants discussed a variety of tools and materials designed to enhance the competencies of educators, preschool teachers, and administrative staff. The focus was on training modules that align with the new Continuous Professional Development (CPD) framework.
They reviewed recent progress and addressed updates to the CPD scheme, which was developed in close collaboration with the leadership of TPDC’s Early Childhood Education Program, taking their feedback into account.
The Executive Director of the I2Q Project emphasized the productive partnership between SDSU and TPDC, noting the significant achievements resulting from their joint efforts.
The Director of the National Center for Teacher Professional Development expressed gratitude for the resources developed by the SDSU experts and showed great interest in the CPD scheme. She confirmed TPDC’s readiness to support the successful implementation of the scheme in close coordination with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
This meeting reaffirmed the commitment of San Diego State University, TPDC, and the I2Q Project to enhance the professionalism and capabilities of personnel working in early childhood education in Georgia.
