The Second Stage of the Regional Tour for the National STEAM Project competition, Future Georgia has Commenced
The qualifying round of the second stage of regional tours of the National STEAM Competition Future Georgia took place at the Peria Public School in the Khelvachauri Municipality on November 17, 2025 . Seven pilot public schools from the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Guria region participated in this selection round. The STEAM extracurricular program was introduced in these schools as part of the I2Q Project, with support of the World Bank.
The competition topics for the national contest Future Georgia varied by educational level: – Primary level: the best playground project; Basic level: epic school project; Secondary level: future city project. Each participating school received 500 GEL in funding from the I2Q Project to develop their project. A commission, led by an international expert, evaluated the submissions based on four main components: a project plan, a model, an essay, and a summary video. Professor Nowak, the international expert, praised all the submitted projects. In his opening speech he remarked, “It was quite difficult to identify the best among your amazing projects. Today should serve as motivation to work harder, generate better ideas, and make the world better around you with the projects you implement.”
The three best projects from the Adjara and Guria regional round have been selected. These winning projects will be showcased in Tbilisi at the final STEAM conference at the end of November, where they will participate among the 30 best projects in the Future Georgia national competition. The international expert, along with the I2Q Project General Education Component Lead, awarded certificates to all participating schools.
This initiative is being implemented with the support of the World Bank as part of the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project – Georgia I2Q.” The consulting work under the general education component of the I2Q Project is conducted by the international consortium IBF Expertise S.A. During the 2024-2025 academic year, the schools will receive support and guidance from Professor Jeffrey Nowak, an international expert from IBF Expertise S.A.
