SDSU Experts Held a Summary Meeting with the Steering Group

On February 10, 2025 within the framework of the visit by experts from San Diego State University (SDSU) to Georgia, a concluding working meeting was held with the members of the Steering Group.

The meeting was opened by Tamar Chkonia, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Component Lead of the I2Q Project, who provided participants with a detailed overview of the meeting’s objectives and agenda.

Experts from the San Diego State University Research Foundation, Professors Nancy Frey and James Marshall, presented a summary report to the audience. Their presentations analyzed the outcomes of the 43-month close cooperation under the I2Q Project, which aimed to improve the management system and enhance program quality in early childhood education institutions nationwide.

The international experts emphasized the additional activities carried out beyond the obligations, which significantly enhanced the project’s overall effectiveness.

Two pivotal documents were presented at the meeting:

The updated curriculum – “Play”, which is based on two core principles: group unity and research-discovery; and the Final Report: A comprehensive document comprising an analysis of the work performed and strategic recommendations for the nationwide implementation of the developed mechanisms.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the international experts expressed their gratitude to the members of the Steering Group for their support and productive partnership. They highlighted that the progress achieved was the result of well-coordinated and active efforts from all stakeholders. Furthermore, they reaffirmed their readiness to remain actively engaged in future joint initiatives.
