Description

The goal of the project is to improve and strengthen the integrated veterinary master’s educational programs implemented by two higher educational institutions of Georgia (Georgia Technical University, European University) and in this way, to prepare and offer a workforce corresponding to new modern requirements for the labor market, which leads to the promotion of the development of the veterinary field in the state.

 

Activities

In order to achieve the goal of the project, it is planned to implement activities in different directions, such as – introduction and sharing of the latest and innovative methods of teaching-learning in the integrated master’s education programs of veterinary medicine; Through consultation and cooperation with foreign experts, to ensure high quality of practical and clinical training, purchase of the latest equipment for university veterinary clinics; Through consultation and cooperation with foreign experts, modernization of the curriculum in order to bring it into compliance with international standards; Establishing close links with representatives of the labor market/potential employers in order to facilitate the practical training and employment of students of the integrated veterinary graduate education program.

 

Sustainability

After the end of the project, in order to systematize the best practices, the documents developed within the framework of the project – project management manual, quality control plan, dissemination plan – are used by the partner universities in the administration of future projects. The effective use of the purchased equipment will be ensured in the university veterinary clinics, which are the bases for the development of clinical and practical skills of the veterinary students of the partner universities, and also in the medical center for pets throughout Tbilisi and its surroundings. Regarding potential future funding, external funding may be obtained through a number of project activities. The project’s dissemination plan outlines the activities that can attract external funding after informing stakeholders of the project’s purpose, activities and their successful implementation. Also, the employment forum and closing conference planned at the end of the project also create platforms for mutual cooperation and visibility. These events may attract external sponsors or partners interested in supporting ongoing initiatives in the field of veterinary education.
