Final Conference of the CIF-Supported “InnovaVet” Project Held

The final conference of the project InnovaVet: Advancing Veterinary Education Programs, implemented with the support of the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF), was successfully held. The event, organized by European University and Georgian Technical University, represents a significant step towards strengthening the veterinary field in the country.

The conference was opened with welcoming remarks by representatives of the rectors’ offices of the higher educational institutions and the head of the CIF Administration Unit. The speakers emphasized the crucial role of effective cooperation between the partner universities for the success of the project and the development of the veterinary sector.

The project working group provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the activities undertaken and the results achieved through InnovaVet, which included the modernization of educational programs and improvements in teaching methods.

During the conference, several engaging and timely thematic presentations were delivered, all aimed at ensuring the quality of veterinary education: An academic representative from European University analyzed the results of the state certification exams for veterinarians and veterinary technicians. A professor from Georgian Technical University highlighted the importance of professional competencies for veterinarians and veterinary technicians in practical work. The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at European University discussed the need to modernize the procedures for conducting Objective Structured Clinical Examinations/Objectives Structured Practical Examinations (OSCE/OSPE) and the challenges involved. Additionally, the Head of the Integrated Master’s Program in Veterinary Medicine at Georgian Technical University provided an in-depth look at the process of modernizing educational programs and the successes achieved from these changes.

The event held particular importance for the academic circles of the veterinary field, industry experts, and other interested parties who are actively involved in the development and improvement of veterinary education at the national and international levels. The InnovaVet project is a good example of how significant progress can be achieved in enhancing the quality of education through effective partnerships and the use of innovative approaches.
