A Series of Workshops Conducted for Heads of Educational Resource Centers
From August 3 to 7, a series of workshops were held for the heads of Educational Resource Centers in Gudauri. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, with the support of the Innovation, Inclusion and Quality Project (I2Q Project).
The event brought together over 100 participants, including heads of Educational Resource Centers, representatives of various structural units of the MESY, and approximately 30 invited guests. The five-day program encompassed informational sessions, working groups, and panel discussions.
The main objectives of the event were as follows: Enhancing the institutional and professional capacities of Educational Resource Centers; Developing territorial units to provide academic, administrative, and methodological support to schools; Strengthening a unified professional vision and coordination between the Ministry and Educational Resource Centers in implementing ongoing educational reforms.
This event fully aligns with the objectives and activities implemented under the General Education Component of the I2Q Project. As part of the project, local and international general education experts prepared a comprehensive analytical document and corresponding recommendations on the functional strengthening of Educational Resource Centers. A significant portion of these recommendations focuses on functionally strengthening the Resource Centers and enhancing their role in supporting the quality of teaching and learning, including the promotion of best school practices and the reinforcement of regional school collaboration. The workshops represent a key step toward implementing these recommendations in practice.
During the meeting, the Head of the General Education Component of the I2Q Project presented the activities completed to date as well as future planned initiatives. Particular emphasis was placed on equipping 300 public schools with STEAM educational resources by the end of 2026, a process successfully underway with the financial support of the I2Q Project.
