Within the framework of the CIF project, the Veterinary Educational Programs Staff of the GTU and the European University Retrained

A series of training sessions was held on July 2-4, 2025, within the framework of the project “Advancing Veterinary Education Programs” (InnovaVet), funded by the I2Q Project Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF). The training sessions, led by representatives from the Estonian University of Life Sciences, focused on enhancing the knowledge of innovative teaching and assessment methods among faculty and invited staff within the veterinary education programs at both GTU and the European University. The goal was to promote the practical implementation of these methods.


Topics covered during the training included problem-based and case-based learning, the flipped classroom model, the integration of technology into the learning process, the development of clinical competencies in students, and other key issues in veterinary education. Approximately 35 professors and educators from the veterinary medicine programs at GTU and the European University actively participated in the discussions.


Upon completion of the training, participants were awarded certificates. Representatives from the I2Q
project’s Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) were present at the closing event.


The goal of the project is to improve and strengthen the integrated veterinary
master’s educational programs implemented by Georgian Technical University and European University and in this way, to prepare and offer a workforce corresponding to new modern requirements for the labor market, which leads to the promotion of the development of the veterinary field in the country.
